This beautiful facility is owned and maintained by El Dorado County, who collaborates with the CSD to provide recreational programming and activities for adults age 50 and up. This unique partnership serves seniors throughout the county.

El Dorado Hills Senior Center offers many classes including drawing, watercolor, line dance, digital photography, cooking, wreath making, chair exercise, etc. Also, guest speakers speak on senior related topics.

AARP Tax-Aide Program
AARP Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax preparation service. This service can answer most of the tax issues faced by middle to low income taxpayers (Exclusions are rental property, investment real estate and schedule CD business) with special attention to those age 60 and older. Thursdays, February 2-April 12 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!

HICAP Counseling
Health Insurance Counseling and
Advocacy Program for Medicare Beneficiaries
If you have Medicare questions, need to learn about programs available, have had a claim denied, or are evaluating Long Term Care Insurance, our volunteer HICAP Counselors can help! Appointments are available by calling 530-621-6369.


Senior Legal Assistance
Call (530) 621-6154 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are available the 2nd Tuesday of the month in El Dorado Hills.


Blood Pressure Checks
Mercy Hospital’s Auxiliary volunteers provide blood pressure checks on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 11:30am.


Senior Transportation Available
Call Dial-A-Ride at (530) 642-3696 to make arrangements for transportation to the Senior Center and personal appointments.


Senior Nutrition Lunch
We offer excellent meals for a reasonable donation of only $3 for seniors age 60 and over, and $5 for those under 60. Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 12noon in the Garden Cafe. Closed on major holidays. Call (916) 358-3562 between 11am and 1pm for menu.


Senior Day Care Program
The County’s Senior Day Care program is housed at the Placerville Senior Center. For those who need care and supervision during the day, this program provides families with peace of mind and the ability to take a break from their care-giving responsibilities. Members are kept busy with crafts, sports, exercise, meals, entertainment, music and lots of personal attention. Transportation from El Dorado Hills is available. Call for more

Senior Support Council
The SSC is a liaison group between the senior community, El Dorado Hills CSD, and County Department of Human (Senior) Services. The all volunteer, elected council coordinates annual senior parties in addition to overseeing other Center activities. Monthly meetings are held the last Tuesday at 10:30am. All are welcome!


Visit the Senior Center Library
The Senior Center has a computer for Senior use, over 200 books and many movies for “check out” via the honor system! We also have puzzles and games for your enjoyment.

Need an Activity “Buddy”??
Do you have a special recreational interest and need a partner(s) to participate with you? If you need a bridge or chess partner, golf buddy, a movie-goer, a sports team member, someone to help you sail your boat, etc., call the Senior Center to be put on a “buddy” list! Here’s the type of buddy’s we currently have on the list! Seniors interested in: hiking, chess, kayaking, spades and hearts, backgammon, outings to plays & musicals, ping pong, going RVing, skiing, sailing, tennis, gourmet cooking, movie outings, and more!
