Rob Vomund
Director
El Dorado Hills CSD Board
Appointed: May 2008 - Nov 2008

As a young boy, Rob was introduced to outdoor recreation by his parents, who loved to bike, camp, hike and take photographs. At the early age of 12 he climbed to the summit of Mount Shasta with his dad.  Rob learned many of his outdoor skills as a Boy Scout, and through the encouragement of his parents, he was honored as an Eagle Scout at age 17.

Rob, and his wife Susan, moved to their home in Marina Village on July 4th, 1988.  Married in 1986, they chose El Dorado Hills as the location to purchase their first home, primarily because of the many outdoor recreation opportunities.

Rob earned degrees in Business Marketing and Communication Studies from University of California, Sacramento and then spent 22 years with Activant Solutions, a mid-sized technology services and software firm.  He advanced through a variety of management positions focusing around event management, public relations, branding, lead generation and e-commerce.  His last position was that of Segment Manager for Activant’s Lumber & Building Materials Group.

In 2006 Rob took a new direction, leaving the high technology world to focus more time on his family, photography and the many outdoor activities he learned to love as a youth.

Today, Rob is a professional photographer and website designer, and owns his own business, Vomund Photography & Web Design.  His photography is sought after for fine art prints and for commercial photography assignments.  Rob also works part-time as a  consultant, helping businesses to create more effective marketing plans and programs.

Rob and his wife are avid tennis players, and can often be found on our local tennis courts. Rob also enjoys a wide range of outdoor sports including hiking, camping, backpacking, road bicycling and snowshoeing.

Rob was appointed as a CSD Board Director in May of 2008, filling a vacancy due to resignation.  Rob’s term runs through December, 2008.
