The CSD Community Pool staff is committed to educating the community that Drowning is Preventable by Following the Safer 3. Safer Water! Safer Kids! Safer Response! This philosophy will be implemented through the Districts Swim Lesson programs, Pool Special Events, and Recreational Swim. Swim Lesson Registration
Please carefully read the class descriptions and enroll for the correct class. If you have questions about class placement or level descriptions please call 933-6624.

Starfish (Parent-Toddler)
Ages 6 - 36 months
Parents and their child work first hand with a Swim Instructor to teach their children how to experience buoyancy, movement, entries, and games to play in the water. Only one child per parent.

Tiny Tot Turtles (Tiny Tots)
Ages 3 - 5
The objective of this class is to help children feel comfortable in the water. They will be introduced to water entry, submerging face independently, floating on front and back, and locomotion in the water in a fun and supportive environment. Participants divided into 3 groups based on their comfort level in the water.

Penguins (Pre-Beginners)
Ages 6 & older (non-swimmers)
For children 6 or older who are first timers or are fearful of the water. Participants will develop confidence in the water while learning fundamental skills, water entry, submerging face/head, front and back float, kicking, and arm strokes.

Gold Fish (Beginners)
Ages 5 & up
Child must be able to swim and float independently on front and back. Class focuses on front and back crawl with side breathing. Introduced to deep water, deep water entries, and swimming under water.

Stingrays (Advanced Beginners)
Ages 6 & up
Child must be able to swim front and back crawl 10 yards independently in deep water. Class focuses on developing endurance and coordination in the front and back crawl strokes. Participants are introduced to elementary backstroke, diving, and deep water retrievals.

Sharks
Ages 7 & up
Child must be able to swim 20 yards front crawl with side breathing and 15 yards back crawl independently in deep water. Participants will develop confidence in the crawl strokes and increase endurance through distance swimming. Introduced to breaststroke kick, scissors kick, treading water and flip turns.

Dolphins (Advanced Swimmer)
Ages 7 & up
Child must be able to swim 25 yards front and back crawl proficiently. This class focuses on increasing coordination and refining previously learned strokes. Introduced to breaststroke, sidestroke, dolphin kick, underwater swimming, and other advanced skills.

Helpful Hints for Swim Lessons:
  • Please make sure you select the appropriate level for your child. Call 933-6624 for assistance.
  • It is recommended that children repeat the last level they completed the previous summer.
  • Most children remain in the same level for two or more sessions.
  • Please make sure your child has a swim suit, towel and plenty of sun block! Children in diapers are required to wear a swim diaper (available for purchase at the pool)
  • Goggles and swim caps can be worn.
Group Swimming Lessons
All Ages
Swimming lessons are available for swimmers of all ages. Classes are two weeks, Monday through Thursday, and are 30 minutes long. Any questions or concerns about which class to enroll in please call 933-6624 .

Private Swimming Lessons
Ages 3 & up
Class is ideal for students who want or require one on one instruction, or are not comfortable in a group setting. Staff will tailor instruction to the specific needs of the student. Private lessons are one week, Mon-Thur, and are 30 minutes long.

Spring Board Diving
Ages 8 & Up
For beginners to advance divers interested in improving their skills. The instructor has coached competitive diving for 20+years and is the head coach for Dos Rios Diving Club, one of Northern California’s most respected diving programs. Great class for those interested in competitive diving for a club or high school. Instruction will be on 1 meter and 3 meter diving boards.

Pool Rentals
El Dorado Hills Community Pool Rentals
The pool is available for private parties and special occasions. Rentals are ideal for large parties such as birthdays, company picnics, and youth outings. Rentals require a two hour minimum, rental fee includes certified lifeguards. Call (916) 614-3217 for availability.
